I went into my local LLoyds branch and I was advised to go online and open an Esaver. When I went to apply online, I was told that I needed a LLoyd’s current account. Websounds to me like Lloyds dont want you to open that specific account type, or maybe you don't have enough of a credit history (or a credit history at all) for them to understand any relative risk. Unfortunately finance these days is pretty heavily automated and if computer says no, it's a no. No way around it.
